POSITION SUMMARY

This role engages with employees, fostering a positive workplace culture, and serves as a liaison with the community to strengthen our company culture and footprint. Responsibilities include assisting with internal and external social media content and events. Additionally, the Engagement Coordinator supports marketing initiatives as well as business development and vendor relations, leads internal engagement initiatives, supports recruitment and retention efforts, represents the company at community outreach events, and handles administrative tasks, while maintaining cross-departmental communication. Due to fluctuating event times and days, it is expected that this position may require evening and weekend work.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop, plan, and implement employee engagement activities including appreciation days, crew events, team-building sessions, recognition programs, celebrations, parties, and other employee-centered activities.
  2. Collaborate with other departments, assist with new employee orientation, and support HR with employee communication.
  3. Organize, attend, and participate in community outreach efforts such as health and safety fairs, school visits, fundraisers, public demonstrations, and other community-centered activities.
  4. Develop social media content highlighting employees, community initiatives, and company values.
  5. Track engagement metrics and gather employee feedback to improve workplace culture.
  6. Support branding and public-relations initiatives that strengthen the company's reputation in the region.
  7. Displays a courteous and professional attitude.
  8. Maintains a neat, clean, and professional appearance per company Dress Code Policy.
  9. Work collaboratively with Dispatch, Leadership, and other departments to meet timing needs around shift schedules and crew availability to meet the staffing needs of events.
  10. Prepares and submits various reports as directed or requested.
  11. Leads by example through strict adherence of company policies and procedures.
  12. Represents the integrity, philosophy, and company values, including company policies and procedures, in a positive manner both internally and externally.
  13. Collaborate with various committees to develop, plan, and execute special events.
  14. Performs all other duties as assigned or requested.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO PATIENT PRIVACY (HIPAA)

  1. The employee is expected to protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with the company's privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal (and state) law, and in accordance with general principles of professionalism as a health care provider. Failure to comply with the company's policies and procedures on patient privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment or of membership or association with Patriot Ambulance Service.
  2. The employee may access protected health information and other patient information only to the extent that is necessary to complete their job duties. The employee may only share such information with those who have a need to know specific patient information necessary to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment, or other company operations.
  3. The employee is encouraged and expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, and concerns, incidents, or issues regarding the company's policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of that policy to the designated Privacy Officer.
  4. The employee is expected to actively participate in mandatory company privacy training and is required to communicate privacy policy information to coworkers, students, patients, and other in accordance with company policy.


QUALIFICATIONS

  1. High School Diploma, Home School Equivalency, or General Education Diploma (GED). Associate's Degree or higher is preferred 
  2. Must have strong operational knowledge of computers, software applications, and office apps. The use of computer-based design software is preferred.  
  3. Valid State of Michigan Driver's license and approved driving status based on acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and insurance requirements.
  4. Strong social, creative, and organizational skills.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups (employees, citizens, community partners). Strong public speaking skills are required.
  6. Strong time-management and communication skills.
  7. Prior experience in HR support, community outreach, marketing, or event planning, or engagement roles.
  8. Strong skills in social media, event planning, and interdepartmental collaboration.
  9. Background check must be clear of a felony conviction.
  10. Must possess strong skills in conflict resolution and rational decision-making.
  11. Current employees must be in good standing.
